We hiked from Valbona to Teth on a Monday then rested and stayed on day in Teth before hiking back from Teth back to Valbona as our car was left behind in Valbona. Proceeding that way enabled us to really enjoy the mountains in North A very special hike, we went valbone to theth getting an 8euro lift to the end of the tarmac road, saving 3km of road walk. For an unfit older couple with superfit kids it was hard work but worth the effort. It was a rewarding day which will live long on the memory of the whole family - helped by having a guide and his horse carry our luggage. Wonderful trip but be well prepared.
Bajram Curri to Kosovo - 2 ways to travel via train, car, and bus
Bajram Curri is the largest town in the Tropoja District of northern Albania , near the border with Kosovo. It is an important gateway to the spectacular Valbona valley and the breathtaking ferry ride across Lake Koman. The town is named for the national hero of the same name, Bajram Curri, a freedom fighter who fought for ethnic northern Albanian interests, first against the Ottoman Empire and later against the new Albanian government. He shot himself near the town in order to avoid capture, and the town was renamed after him. Due to its physical and cultural proximity to Kosovo, the area was adversely affected by the conflict in Kosovo, with many of its residents involved either directly in combat or in assisting and housing refugees from Kosovo. Bajram Curri is an important hub for the traveller, as you are likely to change minibuses furgons here from 3 directions. Like the rest of Albania their schedules depend on demand.
It is sparking clean and Jehona is a fantastic host. In this apartment you will not want for anything. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal, the bed is large and comfortable. The wifi works well and the air con is great too.
