The week started off Monday evening, June 25 with an Open House and discussion sponsored by the Stonewall Recovery Center, a drug treatment program. June 26 was a discussion on transsexuality at the University of Washington Hub Ballroom. On the evening of June 27 a Memorial Service was held at the Metropolitan Community Church to commemorate the victims of the Upstairs Lounge arson attack in the New Orleans gay bar that claimed 32 lives.

Meanwhile, Seattle Pride is aiming to attract more people this year: the Pride theme is "indivisible," which means striving for equality for all marginalized groups. June has been packed with Pride celebrations, but this weekend culminates with the main pride parade on Sunday, plus a parade for trans rights, and the relocated Capitol Hill Pridefest.
